Case study . . .
. . . Educational “briefcase” intended for 9-11 year old school students
A recent project for the University of Perpignan, we were mandated to develop the concept and design of an educational briefcase intended for 9-11 year old students. Including various documents, games and objects meant to assist children with learning about photo journalism, the creation of this briefcase was part of a partnership with the international VISA photojournalism festival held annually in Perpignan.
Users would be both teachers and students, and the graphic identity was intended to be fun, suitable for a young audience (not too childish though) and very readable, as it was primarily intended as an educational tool.
Instead of packing everything into a boring box, we selected to use a real photographers camera bag, together with creating a “photojournalist ID” to further develop the “authenticity” of the package, and a false top for inside, representing the contents of a real photojournalist’s bag. The contents were finished off with the fabrication of custom wooden holders for one of the card games.

- The design of a logo and graphic charter for the project
